About the Welbike with British Para – Single-Seat Motorcycle:

Designed to increase the operational range and speed of paratroopers, the Welbike was a lightweight and functional parachutable motorcycle first developed in 1942. Used in Italy, France, and beyond, the Welbike was dropped via parachute in a crate and was then assembled on the ground. The entire assembly process took about 11 seconds, and some 4,000 Welbikes were produced through the end of the war. However, due to the randomness of arial combat drops, it was difficult for airborne troops to locate their Welbikes after a jump. And if they could, the bike’s 10-inch wheels made for slow going through anything but established roads. For these reasons, the Welbike saw far more use as an airfield transport than frontline service vehicle.
