About the Type 92 105mm Field Gun:
The Type 92 105mm Field Gun was a field gun used by the Imperial Japanese Army during WWII. The intention was for the Type 92 to supersede the Type 14 10 cm Cannon in front line combat. Easily recognizable by its long, thin gun barrel and split carriage trail, it was designed to be used for long-range fire. Its recoil system was hydropneumatic and had a distinctive three-stop interrupted thread breechblock.
One of the major drawbacks was the size of the gun barrel. This made it difficult to transport. Typically, the gun was normally tractor drawn using its large wooden wheels with solid rubber tires. The Type 92 proved to be successful and was used for long-range counter-battery and bombardment roles.
