The SdKfz 251 was Germany's most versatile and widely used armored halftrack vehicle of World War II, often referred to as the "Hanomag" after the manufacturer's name. The SdKfz 251 was used as the base model for more than 20 specialized vehicles and underwent several refinements throughout production history. The Ausf D model was the final late-war version, notable for its boxy design that helped simplify the manufacturing process.
