About the Renault Ft Light Tank:

Over 3,000 Renault FT Light Tanks were built for service on the Western Front during World War I in response to the bloody stalemate on the Western Front. The Renault FT was deployed as a breakthrough exploitation vehicle, equipped with either a low velocity 37mm cannon or two machine guns. Its two-man crew consisted of a driver and tank commander, who doubled as the tank's gunner. The Renault FT’s fully tracked suspension with an engine located in the rear and a single rotating turret set the pattern for future tank development worldwide.
