Also known as the Moon buggy, the lunar rover vehicle was the astronauts’ means of transport while exploring the Moon during the Apollo 15, 16, and 17 missions. Capable of carrying 1,080 pounds (490 kg) including two astronauts, equipment, and lunar samples, the LRV was unloaded from the Lunar Module's Quadrant 1 Bay. All three LRVs to drive on the Moon remain there.
