About the LAV-25A2 – Light Amphibious Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle:

With a low profile and superb maneuverability, the LAV-25 is a versatile battlefield asset. Its eight wheels, amphibious capability, and heavy diesel engine enable the lightly armored reconnaissance vehicle to tackle any environment. It has eight wheels, providing traction and agility over rough ground, and it can switch between 8-wheel or 4-wheel drive. It is amphibious, and can be prepared to hit the water in three minutes. And it is air-transportable in aircraft such as the C-130 or CH-53.

Debuting with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1983, LAV-25s has seen combat in Panama, the Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan, where it proved a valuable scout and quick strike vehicle. The light armor offers minimal protection but enhances the speed of the LAV-25s, and the turret-mounted M242 chain gun and coaxial and pintle-mounted M240 machine guns pack a punch. Befitting a Marine vehicle, the LAV-25 operates on land or water in roles ranging from security and command to reconnaissance and assault.
