About the Goliath – Tracked Mine:
Known as beetle tanks by the Allies, the SdKfz. 302 (nicknamed Goliath) was an unmanned tracked mine used by the Germans in WWII. Operated via joystick by one soldier, the Goliath was powered by two 2.5-kilowatt Bosch electric motors and controlled by a 2,145-foot cable. Used for everything from bridge demolition to tank destroying, Goliaths were used on all fronts where the Wehrmacht fought, beginning in early 1942.
