About the F-35 Lightning II® (Variant B) – STOVL Stealth Fighter:

Developed by Lockheed Martin, the F-35 Lightning II® (Variant B) is the United States Marine Corps’ variation for the Joint Strike Fighter program. The differentiation of the “B” designation is its short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) capabilities. The F-35 achieves this by utilizing a pivoting nozzle and vertical lift fan that drives the craft.

The Lightning II® is a 5th generation fighter that truly brings air superiority. Its advanced stealth features mean it can safely enter regions without being detected. Its electronics are state of the art and use a plethora of sophisticated systems to identify and target the opposition. These include the ALIS/ODIN (autonomic logistics information system/operational data integrated network) which aids in the maintenance and performance of the fighters, DAS (Distributed Aperture System) that gives the pilot 360 degrees of situational awareness, and EOTS (Electro Optical Targeting System) that provides precision air-to-air and air-to-surface targeting capability. With a max speed of Mach 1.6 and a range of 900 nautical miles, this F-35 brings a definite tactical advantage to the Marines.

Kit details feature stars and bars, turbine fan, VMF-121 Knight Logos, cockpit details, tail codes, rescue arrows, wheels, fuselage markings, and more. Play features include working ailerons and elevators, landing gear, internal payload compartment, and STOVL turbine compartment and functional rear engine configuration. Also included is a female F-35 pilot minifig with a custom 3D printed helmet. Display stand not included, but the model is compatible with the version available HERE.
