Designed by the French, produced in Italy and introduced in 1912, the Cannone da 75/27 Mod 1911 saw action in both World Wars before finally being withdrawn from service in 1950. Utilized by Italy with its Alpine and cavalry troops during World War I, the Cannone da 75/27 Mod 1911 even saw service with German forces fighting in Northern Italy from 1943 until the end of the war as the 7.5 cm Feldkanone 244.
