About the Bell® OH-58(A) Kiowa™ - Light Scout Helicopter:

Used extensively throughout the Vietnam War, the Bell® OH-58(A) Kiowa™ preformed low-level reconnaissance, assessment, and targeting missions for gunships and bombers. The low-altitude missions made them a target for small arms fire, but their role of marking LZs with colored smoke grenades proved essential to the new air cavalry tactics utilized by the US. Thus, Kiowa™ crews faced some of the most dangerous and deadly missions of the war.
