Pre-order now for next batch shipping August 1st. BRICKMANIA 233 WWII US Marines Designer: Daniel Siskind The US Marines have served as the fighting troops of the US Navy since the earliest days of the Revolutionary War. In world War Two they were called on to defend Allied outposts in both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean and eventually lead the drive to the final defeat of Japan in the Central Pacific island-hopping campaign. The US Marine Corps. was the first Allied fighting force to put theory of amphibious warfare to the test at Guadalcanal and the first to lead a successful assault against a heavily defended beach Tarawa (thus providing the proof that Operation Overlord or "D-Day" in Eruope could be successful). Other battlefields such as Tinian, Saipan, Guam, Iwo Jima, Okinawa and others tested the mettle of the Marines, who fought valiantly and triumphantly against the tenacious occupation forces of the Japanese Empire.
