BRICKMANIA 2029 M1 57mm Anti-Tank Gun Designer: Daniel Siskind The M1 57mm gun was adapted by the US army when it became apparent that the 37mm anti-tank gun was inadequate against increasingly better armored German tanks. The design of this weapon is directly copied from the British 6-pounder light field gun, already in production in the USA for the Lend-Lease program. The gun was reclassified the M1 57 mm Anti-Tank gun and fitted with a longer barrel to acheive a higher muzzle velocity, essential for an effective armor penetration. The M1 was issued to US Army anti-tank regiments and airborne units in Europe as well as the Pacific and remained in service through the Korean War.
This model is built using genuine Lego bricks, many of which are the discontinued pre-2004 dark gray color. This is the second version of the M1 57mm Anti-Tank gun to be released by Brickmania, with main difference being the change of some of the rarest parts from old dark gray to new  The original 57mm Anti-Tank gun in action. The new versions has some pieces in different colors than shown in the photos. Minifigs are not included. |
